For those who are new to VIEW or haven't seen us in a while! Participants will learn the basic navigation of the website, create a customized online folder, and identify specific website areas most helpful with your school needs in career exploration and career development.
- Exploring Careers in 3D: The Change Over Time Project
This interactive session based on a project developed by VT Graduate Students , and piloted with K-8 students in Spring 2012 shows how to combine art, science, and technology in career exploration. This method of career exploration encourages creative and critical thinking through inquiry, visualization, and modeling. Join us in this unique way to engage students in the career exploration process.
- Developing 21st Century Skills: Now for Later
Meeting the goals in the VDOE 2010-2015 Educational Technology Plan, this session focuses on resources, activities and ideas to help students develop life and career skills and the 4C's of Learning and Innovation Skills.
- Career & College Readiness for At-Risk Students
At risk students in grades K-8 face the same barriers as those in high school in career development and academic preparation. Learn specific strategies geared to helping at-risk students in grades K-8 aimed at 3 ASCA National Model career development goals.
- Creating a Parent Program
Counselors use your student's main career influence: Parents! Create your own Counselor's Parent Program including a career and college ready parent library, family career activities, parent resources, and ready-to-go information sessions for parents and students.
- Careers & Storytelling II: The Next Chapter
Due to high demand the 2011 Storytelling Workshop session is back this Spring with more to offer. Learn how storytelling is a powerful tool for student self-reflection & career development. Learn new ways to incorporate storytelling into creative activities using technology and more! If you did not attend Storytelling last year, this is a must see!
